Spicy Pineapple Manwich Sliders

Yield:
12 sliders

Sweet and smoky pineapple and spicy jalapeno give this slider a chef-level twist that takes your tailgate to the end zone.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 fresh pineapple, cut into rings or small chunks
  2. 2 to 3 fresh jalapenos, thinly sliced (or 1/2 cup pickled jalapeno slices)
  3. 2 pounds TOPS ground beef
  4. 1 to 2 cans (15.5 ounce each) Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
  5. 1 package (12 count) Kings Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  6. fresh cilantro leaves (optional garnish)
Directions:

1. Char the Pineapple

Slice pineapple into thin rings or chunks.
Grill or sear on a hot skillet for 2 to 3 minutes per side until caramelized/charred.
Set aside.

2. Prep the Jalapenos

Fresh: slice thin into rings for a crunchy, spicy bite.
Pickled: drain and pat dry for tangy heat.

3. Cook the Beef

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef until fully cooked.
Drain excess fat.
Stir in Manwich sauce, reduce heat, and let simmer for 5 minutes.

4. Build the Sliders

Lightly toast the Kings Hawaiian rolls.
Place a slice of charred pineapple onto the bottom half of each roll.
Spoon Manwich mixture over the top and add 1 to 2 jalapeno slices.
Add cilantro leaves if desired, then cap with the top roll.

5. Serve and Celebrate

Arrange on a platter and serve warm.

Pro Tip for Filming: Brush the rolls with melted butter before toasting for a glossy camera-ready finish.
